How to stay safe on "INTERNET"

 Introduction:

The internet is a powerful tool for communication, learning, business, and entertainment. However, it also exposes users to various risks such as hacking, phishing, identity theft, malware, scams, and privacy violations. This guide provides detailed practices to stay safe online.

1. Create Strong, Unique Passwords.

  • Use passwords that include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid personal details such as your name or birth date. Use different passwords for different accounts to prevent a single breach from affecting all platforms.

2. Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring verification beyond your password, such as a code sent to your phone or an authentication app. Enable MFA on all important accounts including email, banking, and social media.

3. Be Careful with Links and Attachments

.Do not open links or attachments from unknown or suspicious sources.

4. Keep Your Software Updated

Regularly update your operating system, applications, and antivirus software.

5. Use Secure Internet Connections

Avoid entering sensitive information on public Wi-Fi networks. When necessary, use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to encrypt your connection.

6. Protect Your Personal Information

Be mindful of the information you share online. Oversharing on social media can make you a target for hackers and scammers.

7. Verify Website Security

Ensure the websites you use are secure. Avoid entering personal or payment details on unprotected sites.

8. Recognize and Avoid Scams

Online scams come in many forms, including fake job offers, lottery messages, and impersonation scams. Never share personal information or make payments unless you can verify the legitimacy of the request.

9. Manage Privacy Settings

Review privacy settings on social media platforms, mobile apps, and websites. Limit data collection and disable permissions that are not necessary.

10. Safe Online Shopping Practices

Shop only on trusted, reputable websites. Avoid deals that look too good to be true. Use secure payment methods and never save your card details on unknown platforms.

11. Protect Children Online

Use parental controls, monitor their activity, and educate children about online risks. Encourage them to avoid chatting with strangers and sharing personal information.

Conclusion:

Internet safety requires awareness and proactive measures. By adopting the practices listed above, you significantly reduce the risk of falling victim to cyber threats and ensure a safer online experience.

How to Play Chess

1. Introduction

Chess is a two-player strategy board game played on an 8x8 grid. Each player starts with 16 pieces and the objective is to checkmate the opponent's king — that is, to place the king under attack with no legal moves to escape.

2. The Board and Setup

The board consists of 8 files (a–h) and 8 ranks (1–8). The bottom-right square should be a light square (from each player's perspective).

Starting Position (White pieces on ranks 1-2):

3. The Chess Pieces and How They Move

King (K)

Moves one square in any direction. The king is the most important piece — protect it.

Queen (Q)

Moves any number of squares in any straight line (rank, file, diagonal).

Rook (R)

Moves any number of squares along a rank or file. Useful in endgames and for castling.

Bishop (B)

Moves any number of squares diagonally. Each bishop stays on its color.

Knight (N)

Moves in an L-shape: two squares in one direction then one perpendicular. Can jump over pieces.

Pawn (P)

Moves forward one square. On its first move, a pawn may move two squares. Captures diagonally one square forward. Promotes on last rank.

4. Basic Rules

Check

A king is in check when it is under attack. You must move out of check on your next move.

Checkmate

Checkmate occurs when the king is in check and there are no legal moves to escape. That ends the game.

Stalemate

If a player has no legal moves but is not in check, the game is a draw (stalemate).

Castling

A special move involving king and rook. Requirements: neither has moved, no squares the king passes through are attacked, and no pieces between them.

En Passant

A special pawn capture that can occur immediately after an opponent moves a pawn two squares and it lands beside your pawn.

Promotion

When a pawn reaches the farthest rank (8 for White, 1 for Black), it is promoted to a queen, rook, bishop, or knight (usually a queen).

5. Opening Principles

• Control the center with pawns and pieces (e.g., e4, d4, Nf3, Nc3).

• Develop minor pieces (knights and bishops) early; avoid moving the same piece many times.

• Castle early to safeguard your king and connect rooks.

• Don't bring your queen out too early — it can be attacked and lose time.

6. Elementary Tactics

Fork

A single move that attacks two or more pieces simultaneously (e.g., knight forks).

Pin

A piece is pinned when moving it would expose a more valuable piece (or king) behind it.

Skewer

Like a pin but with the more valuable piece in front; when it moves, a lesser piece behind it can be captured.

Discovered Attack

Moving one piece reveals an attack by another piece behind it; a discovered check is especially powerful.
